Bounce Energy's Charity and Community Involvement
Bounce Energy cares about its local community and takes part in many charitable campaigns and events. Bounce Energy extends its motto of providing more than just electricity to not only its customers, but to the community as well.
American Heart Association
The American Heart Association builds healthier lives by educating Americans about cardiovascular diseases and stroke. To coincide with Valentines Day, Bounce Energy launched their American Heart Association charity campaign to raise money for the organization. For every new Facebook "like" and Twitter follower, Bounce Energy donated $1 to AHA.
Berry Children
The Berry Children are three incredible siblings who had lost their parents in a tragic car accident. The accident had left the two older brothers paralyzed and the youngest daughter with broken bones. To help pay for medical expenses, support, and education of the children we donated $2,500 to the Joshua and Robin Berry Children's Trust and added $1 for every new Facebook "like" and Twitter follower.
Support Our Troops Texas
To coincide with the Memorial Day and July 4th, Bounce Energy donated to Support Your Troops Texas. The organization provides for the material, physical, and emotional needs of our military men and women at home and abroad.
Red Cross - Relief for Areas Affected by Tornados, Storms, and Fires
The Spring of 2011 not only brought rain to areas across the nation, but we also saw severe weather that damaged southeastern states such as Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Many of these states experienced heavy rains that brought flooding and tornadoes, and droughts that caused fires. Bounce Eneryg donated $1 to the Red Cross relief for every new Facebook "like".
Red Cross - Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami
In March of 2011, the country of Japan experienced one of the worst natural disasters in history. An 8.9 magnitude earthquake left towns and villages in Japan devastated. In order to help, we donated a bottle of water or a food item for each new Facebook "like" received.
AIDS Foundation
The AIDS Foundation has been a direct provider of resources for HIV/AIDS services and information. To help in funding, Bounce Energy donated $1 for every new Facebook "like" and Twitter follower during February and March of 2011.
Toys for Tots
The Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them to needy children in the community during the holidays so they can have a gift to open Christmas morning. Bounce Energy donated $1 for every new Facebook "like" through December to the Toys for Tots organization.
Texas Food Bank Network
The Texas Food Bank Network unites food banks affiliated with Feeding America in Texas. The organization covers all areas of Texas and provide many families with food assistance. Bounce Energy donated a food item for every Facebook "like" and Twitter follower during the month of Novemeber for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Breast Cancer Charities and Foundations
To mark having 15,000 fans on Facebook, Bounce Energy donated $2,500 to breast cancer charities and foundations during breast cancer awareness month. The money was given to different organizations to help with breast cancer research, treatment, and education.
Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas
Bounce Energy donated $2,500 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas through Bounce Energy's "Nominate Your Charity" promotion on Facebook. Bounce Energy asked its friends on Facebook which charity it should donate to and the winning charity received $2500. Out of more than 20 charities, MAW-NT received the most number of votes.
Give a Kid a Backpack
Give a Kid a Backpack is a nonprofit organization that works towards enriching the lives of impoverished children around the world with backpacks filled with school supplies. Bounce Energy donated $15 for every new customer that signs up for a Blue Sky Fixed 6 of Blue Sky Fixed 12. In addition, a $1 donation is added for every person that "Likes"/becomes a fan of Bounce Energy on Facebook and Twitter.
Power for Schools
Bounce Energy has agreed to offer their best available rates to parents and school supporters and to make a monthly contribution for each supporter who signs up through the Power for Schools and designates a school to receive the contribution.
Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank is the largest source of food for hunger relief charities in 18 southeast Texas counties. In December, Bounce Energy asked its customers and friends to become a Fan of Bounce Energy on Facebook. In exchange, Bounce Energy donated a food item to the Houston Food Bank for every new Facebook Fan. At the end of the promotion, Bounce Energy donated 1,780 food items to the Houston Food Bank.
American Red Cross for Haiti Earthquake Victim
Millions of lives were devastated by the earthquake in Haiti, which resulted in urgent need for food, medical care, and supplies. To help relief efforts, Bounce Energy donated $5 to the American Red Cross for new customers who signed up on a fixed rate plan. And for every new Facebook Fan and Twitter follower, donated the cash equivalent of a bottle of water or food item.
National Wildlife Federation for Gulf Oil Spill
The Gulf Oil Spill has put many of its local wildlife in danger. To help with the cleanup and volunteer and restoration efforts, Bounce Energy donated money to the NWF for new customers who signed up with its green energy plans.
Everyone's Green in April
To celebrate Earth Day's 40th anniversary, Bounce Energy upgraded all its new and current customers to green energy for the month of April. Customers were able to power their homes with 100% renewable energy at no extra charge.
Bayou Buddies and Trees for Houston's Red Buds Planting on the Parkway
Bounce Energy was a major sponsor for the annual Planting of the Parkway 2010. Volunteers and employees got their hands dirty to beautify and help improve the environment at the Planting on the Parkway event in January 2010 where volunteers planted over 1,200 plants along Buffalo Bend Nature Park.
Shade of Hope benefitting the Houston Furniture Bank
Bounce Energy sponsored Shade of Hope, a community arts affair intended to raise money, awareness, and support for The Houston Furniture Bank. Money raised for the Furniture Bank went towards turning houses into homes for less-fortunate families.
AIDS Walk of Houston
This past March, Bounce Energy's Team Amalia participated in The AIDS Walk of Houston for its 2nd straight year. The AIDS Walk increases community awareness and educates Houstonians about HIV/AIDS.
St. Jude's Texas Stars Shine Gala
Bounce Energy donated an auction package to the St. Jude's Texas Stars Shine Gala to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital which helps children in Houston, Texas, across the nation, and around the world.
American Cancer Society Starlight Gala
Bounce Energy supported the American Cancer Society by donating an energy package that was auctioned off during the ACS's anual Starlight Gala. The American Cancer Society raises money for funding for cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services.
St. Luke's Up, Up, and Away Soiree
Bounce Energy supported St. Luke's Day School by providing an auction package which included two free months of 100% renewable energy and a home energy cost monitor. All proceeds go towards various projects at St. Luke's Day School.
